Research

The research initiative GREES aims to improve industrial energy efficiency in a sustainable way through new research findings.

Research focus of the graduate school GREES

The graduate and research school GREES conducts research in the field of industrial energy efficiency. GREES aims to increase energy efficiency in the industry and the commerce/trade/service sector by research. Thus, research in GREES is structured in three foci:

Electrical energy, thermal energy and flexibility.

Each of these foci consists of two reseach areas. Every single PhD project in GREES belongs to at least one research area, with intended overlappings. The respective research areas are not oriented by the foci of the involved institutes. Consequently, scholars from varying disciplines work in the same research areas. This interdisciplinary exchange leads to new ideas and unconventional approaches.
